Elements and Performance Criteria
CUA10120 Certificate I in Dance
CUADAN111 Develop foundational dance techniques
- 1. Identify and review different dance styles
- 1.1 Discuss aspects of dance styles with required personnel
1.2 Identify and discuss the use of safe dance practices when practising and performing dance with required personnel
1.3 Discuss cultural protocols that need to be considered when performing cultural dance styles
- 2. Practise and perform basic dance movements
- 2.1 Select dance style to practise and perform in consultation with supervisor
2.2 Perform warm-up exercises under the guidance of a supervisor according to safe dance practices
2.3 Practise associated basic dance steps and techniques according to own technical ability and selected dance style
2.4 Agree with supervisor on dance sequence to perform that includes a range of movements suitable to own technical ability
2.5 Perform dance sequence and techniques to required personnel
2.6 Perform warm-down exercises after dance activity according to safe dance practices
- 3. Review performances
- 3.1 Evaluate own dance sequence performance and development of foundation dance techniques
3.2 Seek feedback and coaching from supervisor on performance and use of foundation dance skills, and note areas for improvement
3.3 Set goals for improvement and develop a plan to achieve them
